A device is an operational unit that can be powered or networked. When powered, devices will run programs that enable them to produce uses and function as network equipment. Typically, a networked device can be accessed by routines using a debugger.

When hovering the mouse over a device, important information such as the device's product name, device power state, the hardware address and configured network address and designated DNS server address will be shown. By default, a device purchased off-the-shelf will not have any network address or designated DNS server assigned, therefore ommiting these information from the hover panel.
